Firefox has been the most popular alternative browser being used, other than IE7 with windows. I’ve always only used the best of the best free software, when I buy something I make sure it’s the top of the line, I have buying something cheap. I drive an Acura, well which is a Honda, I just always go with the absolute best free or paid option. I hope you understand what I mean. But open source is something that always spells out “freedom” to me. Multi-platform support? even better!. Anywhere I go, any operating system I use, Firefox is there for me. I can’t complain with that one, also being able to back up all my bookmarks and browser cookies.. etc and take that from a PC to a Mac and everything still is compatable so I don’t lose all that information that took me months to build up.
It may not be as fast as Google Chrome, or Safari but hell.. how much faster can web browsing get?. My Internet connection reflects on how fast browsing speeds are, and if I’m downloading something while web surfing no matter what it’s going to be slow.
With the option for add-ons I definitely support Firefox bigtime, but it’s multiplatform support and long term existance and outstanding easy-of-use I think it would be very hard for me to switch to any other browser, unless I was forced to.
