There are those apps you find in the market that are the most downloaded, and there are those apps you find in advertisements that claim are free, and that’s where they make their money in their apps, within the ads on the application itself. But anyways it’s a win-win situation when we get a free app, and the developer still gets money through advertising. Where you get these apps is no longer just in one place on the Android. On the iPhone or any iOS device of course thats a different story. So anyways, back to the subject of Android Application Download Markets. There is Google’s Market, or you can find an application over your web browser and download/install it right from there. Then there is also Amazon’s app market, which is similar to other Markets, but has it’s own twist. But we can just say the hell with these markets, I can choose which app I want on my phone, no limitations.
All in all I do enjoy having more than one app market on my phone, it gives me that much more options to make full use of my phone, and use features you always dreamed of that you knew could be technically possible if someone made it. Now there’s a saying “theres an app for that” which really came from an iPhone commercial in 2009, check out the link in this sentence. Amazon’s Market has a “Free app of the day”, which I think most people only use their market for that, to find a great app. All in all, the majority of people use the Android Market as some people not all people are technophiles like me and they just use what’s there, because they don’t know, and us nerds call these people noobs, but I don’t judge them for not knowing.
There are also a number of users who are told and given knowledge that is not all the truth, like when a really great app is not on the Android Market and it’s on Amazon instead, so the users (us) get pissed off because we cannot find that great app in the Android Market, so they blame Google. The same goes for applications that are crap but get high downloads because amazon made them the free application of the day. Then when a person downloads that “popular” app, they realize it’s actually crap too, and no longer trust content or apps that is released in the Android Market itself. This user would ask, if these apps are at the top, or the most popular, why are they so crappy?. This kind of confusion within sucks, and isn’t good for any user to be going through, there is no medication for this.
It’s not a fact that it’s Google’s or Amazon’s fault, but it’s the user’s fault themselves, but they don’t know that. It’s just a combination of a number of things too, which is users that are inexperienced in smartphones or computers, or technology completely, trust me everyone I know is this way, I am completely the opposite, so much that I feel unique, or the only one that knows, at least within the group of people that I know. There are different opinions out there, and facts, about different apps.
But anyways each Market has it’s own advantages and disadvantages. Amazon has some pretty good apps, which are easy to find because of their ranking system. Two more Android Markets are “Getjar” and “Gameloft“. But all in all the Android Market is the most accessible and secure. Always stand by the official ones with your smartphones. So I guess what I’m really saying overall is, make the most of your experience with the Android and what it has to offer. Which is a crapload of options for different apps, with a huge variety different Markets, and in the end it’s up to you. Download that app from your web browser, who gives a damn. Your Android phone is “jailbroken” out of the box, isn’t that the way it’s supposed to be?. These multiple markets are like buying coffee from Mcdonalds instead of Starbucks. But I prefer Starbucks more, and that’s just me. I’d rather pay $5 for a good tasting coffee rather than $1 for the same size cup of coffee I could of made with sewer water, and I’m sure Google will name their next big Android OS update after coffee beans or something weird like that.
