I guess your here to find out what the best HDMI cord is to buy. Well it’s pretty simple, any HDMI cord that is version 1.3 that is Gold plated should do the job. But it doesn’t really get any more technical than that. When you go to the store, find the length that fits your situation. 6ft is pretty long, but if you have an entertainment center I would recommend just getting the shortest 3ft cords and the cheapest ones (the brand of these cords do not matter). But yes, look for Gold plated ones.
You may see the Monster HDMI cables (only click that link to see what I mean, dont buy them) on the shelf, and you will notice that they are like $50 or more. Stay away from these, they are too much, they’re way overpriced, I don’t know how they get away with selling them for so much. I have been using the same Phillips 3ft HDMI cord that I got with my Xbox 360 Elite like 3 years ago. I just ordered some more HDMI cords off eBay for like $4 free shipping, that are Gold plated.
I know how it can seem like everything comes down to the technical details when buying these cords, as with anything else that is electronic. But I assure you, if you stick with it, none of this will be as technical to you as much as compared to now. The only way I learned all this was having the patience in learning everything. Get as much advice as you can get. In the mean time, check out my blog regularly for any technology tips and how-to’s and I’ll help you learn myself.
