My Favored Bloggers
First off, here are some successful bloggers that I have been fond of ever since their success, they aren’t sorted by how much I like them or how much any of them have been successful or anything, it’s just a list and they are all equally my personal favourite bloggers of all time:
1. Amit Agarwal
The main man on my list of favorite bloggers (even though I said this was just a list and not going from #1 to #2 and so on in terms of success and how much I favor them). They call him “India’s most popular blogger”. He at first had been working in IT after moving to the U.S. from India, then getting a degree in Engineering and in Computer Science from IIT. He worked at ADP Inc., for clients like Goldman Sach and also Merrill Lynch. When he heard about Adsense in 2003 through word of mouth from his fellow co-workers, he got out his laptop and started blogging. Since then he has moved back to India two years later, and started Blogging & Vlogging full time in reviewing software and gadgets, and making how-to’s.
2. Lisa Irby
Her “niche” is simply what she does, making money online, AND creating a website. Her site, 2createawebsite.com was created in the old’n days when there weren’t many sites explaining “how to create a website”. It was a new niche then, and has grown since then and she is at the top of the search results because of her great content and seniority (for the most part, content). She also owns 2PlanAWebSite.com, WebsiteBabble.com, Flat-Stomach-Exercises.com and NapturallyCurly.com. By 2004, the total amount of earnings from 2createawebsite had matched her 9-5 job as a Web Analyst. She was making 4x more than her salary at that job. Anyways, you can check her out on Youtube and the links I provided above.
3. Darren Rowse
He wrote the book that inspired many of us that were already blogging, “Blogging for dollars – do you have what it takes?“. His blog www.Problogger.net has over 321,000 readers and 41,367 “Likes” on Facebook. He also owns the blogs Digital-Photography-School.com, TwiTip.com – Twitter Tips and last but not least FeelGooder.com. He basically wrote a scroll for us to read to become Bloggers, if your one of them already right now. He is the man that defines blogging. Anyways, his success story all started when he was already blogging for the Digital Photography School, and was bringing in enough traffic already that when Adsense came out in 2003, he integrated it and was making enough from it that he then embarked on a new journey with that site and Problogger to make money fully from it, which in 2006 he did achieve that.
4. Dr Kim
He started a “website” in 2000 on Apple computers called MacRumors.com, in regards to rumors about their products. He was studying Medicine for so long and blogging about Mac rumors for so long that by 2008, his site was reaching 4.4 million visitors and also 40 million page views per month, allowing him to simply walk out of the college he was attending to go blogging full time. According to Quantcast, his blog is one of the most popular technology Web sites out there, and to this day. You never see his name mentioned on his own blog, or really anywhere else but here and other blogs speaking of his success. I found out about him on Problogger and NYtimes.
5. Bob Lotich
This guy, owner of ChristianPF (a blog for Christians and about Personal Finances), I found probably about six months ago from his content-rich blog article called “How To Make Money Online“, a tutorial on making money online (really?). According to that article, in just two years he went from not even knowing what a blog was to making even more money from blogging than his day job. Everywhere I go on his site I see nothing but rich content, and his videos look like they were made professionally (like the quality you see on TV).
He simply was already at the top like everybody else in his profession as a Teacher (I forget what he taught, I will add what it was later when I find out again). He had a passion for Technology, like me. And he found a way to make his passion and hobby his career, so he “created an opportunity” and he started a website called www.Lockergnome.com in 1996, before many popular monetization programs like Adsense were out where you could monetize your site and make a good amount of money if you had alot of traffic being driven to your site. He maintains his own live video feed here, and has many videos on Youtube that are mainly to do with anything, but mostly to do with Technology and other things Chris likes, or stuff going on in his life.
7. Annie
Annie created www.Luxuryhousingtrends.com way back in 2006 when she herself heard about Blogging and making money from it through Adsense (of course) in the Webmaster forums somewhere. She then started a blog on Home Decor and 3 years later started seeing results, while being capable of quitting her “day job” and switching over to blogging full time”. She made a video on Youtube detailing her success in 2008, then later took it down (I am guessing in 2009). She remains one of my favored bloggers from hearing her story of her success. She hasn’t updated her blog in awhile, but maybe she just took some time off.
I will update this list once I remember the (other) Bloggers/Vloggers that I look up to as inspirational.
