The iPhone 5 is rumored to come out tommorow, and that’s basically every technology blog on the internet saying this. Of course one blog says something, and the rest repeat it, like here. But I think the math has been done in the past iPhone releases, but let’s start from the bottom and make our way to the top:
iPhone – announced on January 9th, 2007.
iPhone 3G – announced on July 11th, 2008.
iPhone 3GS – announced on June 8th, 2009.
iPhone 4 – Announced on June 7th, 2010.
iPhone 4S – announced on October 4th, 2011.
iPhone 5 – Tommorow?.
I’m not that excited about the software that will be available with the iPhone 5, it’s just the hardware that I’m mostly excited about. Honestly though, I prefer an iPhone over any other smartphone because it basically is an iPod, integrated into a smartphone. I have done the research now, I’ve used two Android smartphones in the past 3 years being the Samsung Galaxy and Galaxy S, and I know that the Android doesn’t complete my quest for a phone that does a good job with music too, among other things that most people look for in a smartphone. I think Music is a huge part of the smartphone experience, and the iPhone completes that quest.
If you look at the interface of the Android compared to the iPhone:
It’s very similar, and that’s just one model of the Android. My Samsung Galaxy S screen looks like this:
With a case on it looks even more like the iPhone. You see the icons, and it has home screens just like the iPhone.
Anyways, if your an Android lover.. sorry to say so many good things about the iPhone and to sound like an Android hater. I honestly love the phone for it’s features seperate from the music capabilities. It versus a Blackberry or a Windows smartphone, is not even worth comparing. If I hated music, I would stick with the Android.
I just think that Google did some copying in the process of it’s creation. But Microsoft copied Apple didn’t they?. They don’t think so, but I think most Mac fans would agree. These are all my own opinions, but anyways.
Will you preorder the iPhone 5 tommorow if you can?, or down the road even?. After my own post on buying a smartphone outright or opting with getting one with a 3 year minimum contract, I am still undecided on what I will do. I may just get an older iPhone off of eBay, and sell my Galaxy S. I will eventually decide.
But if the this upcoming iPhone comes in a 128GB model, that is also water resistant, I probably will just go for it. That is basically my dream phone. A smartphone that holds all of my music and then some, and also can resist mother nature.
Do you think it’s going to look like the very top image of this post?. Well, if it does, then that would be cool I think. If an iPad Mini is released tommorow too, that would be cool but I’m just not the most excited guy ever about it.
Aside from all of that, check out MacRumors of course for all the details of the rumors behind tommorow’s event that Apple is throwing.
