So it’s confirmed, and yes the release date is today. The iPhone 5 with a bigger screen is here, and the screen is 4″ as the rumors said it would be, plus it’s Retina as well. Apparently, the wireless is faster, and probably including the carrier connectivity speeds (depending on where you are). It comes with a new, more powerful A6 CPU, with better performance and even better graphics performance which in combination are twice as fast as the A5 chip in the iPhone 4S. Even with all of that speed, the iPhone 5 also provides extremely good battery life.
It’s also apparently 18% thinner than the last iPhone 4S, 20% lighter, and also 12% less volume. Browsing time while using the LTE (4G) cellular technology, the battery can last 8 hours. For talk time, 8 hours. And for video playback time, 10 hours. Who would of thought watching 5 movies would last longer than talking on the phone itself. Of course with the iPhone 5 there is brand new earphones, they look like this:
And the iSight camera records in 1080p, plus FaceTime is in HD now as well. The Camera app brings in improvements like 40 percent faster photo capturing times, and an even better low-light performance feature, with even more noise reduction compared to before. Snapping photos are alot more detailed and filled with more clarity in comparison to before. The dock connector cable looks like this:
With Apple making the iPhone 5 even thinner, they also replaced the 30-in dock connector with a “Lightning” connector. If comes with an all-digital, eight-signal design that is alot more durable than a 30-in connector. To me it looks like a downsized ethernet cord. If you still want to use a 30-pin connector for the iPhone 5, you can still use it.
The other additions to the iPhone 5 is a newer Maps application, updates to Siri, and even more that comes exclusively with iOS 6.You can now stream your content to the Apple TV too (including video in 1080P). And you can also print documents wirelessly from your iPhone to your wireless printer, all through AirPrint. Now that is a cool feature, I think.
So what do you think of this baby?. It’s going to cost minimum 729$ CAD. It still only comes in a 16GB, 32GB and a 64GB model. I don’t think it’s water resistant like I wanted it to be. How could I, myself, adapt to this device?, well I would just get a water resistant case (which I need a case for it anyways) and I would just stick with 64GB’s of storage. I don’t know still, if I am going to get it. You can preorder it on the 14th though if you want.
