One good way of increasing the security of your blog is by changing the login URL to your WordPress blog. It’s generically made /wp-admin on every blog, where alot of hackers try to break into blogs with brute force attacks. Limit Logon Attempts is one good plugin in preventing the brute force attacks, but now changing the URL of your login to your blog can help increase the security even more of your blog. So this is where “Lockdown WP Admin” comes in handy.
You can see in the video of how you change the URL, if you look at the image below it’s pretty much self explanatory.
You just simply click on “Hide WP Admin” in the settings, then enter in the new word or characters in the box on the far right in the middle of the settings page for Lockdown WordPress Admin. It’s the second red arrow at the top of the image. By default, “Disable HTTP Auth” is enabled. Now you login to a different address. I was looking into a way of doing this manually, in changing the URL of my login for another blog but it was too complicated for me. This plugin was the answer to all my prayers.
