Anyone who owns their own Nexus Android smartphone in the U.S. knows exactly how slow the upgrade process is in the real world. In between the manufacturers that cause delays and carriers with their extensive testing of firmwares before being released, a flagship smartphone can be heavily plagued by older software for many months with a very long and gradual ending that is excruciatingly slow. And as it has been said in the official word from Samsung, the Galaxy S III update to the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will be taking place in the future, just in a few months apparently.
The U.S. carriers that are specific to the update will be revealing their own release date for the Android 4.1 release. It’ll be very interesting to see exactly who will be coming forward in the first place with Jelly Bean, and I can just picture them rolling out all of the firmware updates in a huge group.
Additionally, the Galaxy S III will be receiving feature updates along with an update like for camera enhancements. Pop up and play updates, Easy mode, Blocking mode, and also Swype support. And obviously, Galaxy S III owners will be benefitting from the newest features that are presented by Jelly Bean.
Fortunately for iPhone users, updates come directly from Apple for all models of iPhone’s and the updates are not restricted to the damn mobile carrier.
