Apple began accepting pre-orders for the iPad mini and also the 4th generation iPad earlier this morning at around 3AM Eastern / 12AM Pacific. As it was said in the Mac Rumor forums, the initial stock of the iPad minis in white, already sould out in the U.S. And within the very first 17 minutes, the shipment dates for the white iPad mini slipped to around 2 weeks from the original “Delivers 11/2″. The black Wi-Fi iPad mini still remains to be available for delivery by the date of November 2nd.
And of course it is not easy to tell how much of their stock of the iPad minis are out and if it’s related to high demand versus the low supply. The stocks may have been very low as the others have said within countries outside of the United States that listed the “two week” times for delivery, from the very first moment the white iPad minis went on sale.
Something that remains very typical is, that Apple will be offering the iPad mini in the retail stores on the release day. Apple provides a sizable stock of devices to be available for purchase on the official release date of the products. The Wi-Fi iPad mini also will be available in retail stores as of November 2nd. And meanwhile, the cellular model will be delivered as promised as of mid-November.
