Linkin Park’s newest album for this year is out now, as named “Living Things“. It’s their fifth debut album to date, which I have listened to thoroughly enough to provide any of my readers here some tips of if it’s worth buying or not. Of course most of you may not, but, I recommend it. As you can see they made the album cover look like a Mummy, or some sort of soldier that is disintegrating. My favorite songs in the album are: “Lost In The Echoes”, “I’ll Be Gone”, “Burn It Down” (which I’ve heard too much already thank you), “Skin To Bone” and my most favorite of all is “Powerless”.
“Lost In The Echoes” is definitely a song that will get you pumped when you first hear it, as it is the first song which will excite any fan listening to this album for the first time. The rest of the songs keep you within the boundaries of the listening vibe you get from Linkin Park’s newest material, and their past and most recent albums after “Meteora”. The one song that I mentioned I liked the most as being “Powerless”, gives me the same vibe I got from the first time I listened to “My December” but it’s a little bit faster.
In my own honest opinion, this album is alot like “Minutes To Midnight” though. Just in terms of how many songs they wrote and how much different the music is in it. They are getting more and more electronic or nu-metalish in my opinion, which isn’t bad at all. We all love Hybrid Theory and now it’s like ten years old and I still enjoy listening to it. Linkin Park’s second best album they’ve ever made in my opinion is “A Thousand Suns”. It’s one of those I like listening to on long drives, or when I am just the passenger. But they have jumped beyond that album though in my opinion, and beyond is where I mean they have taken a step back. But they are trying, they’re trying really hard.
They would say that they “create music that they only like”, but when anyone makes music I know they do it for the people and not just themselves, but it’s their music created in their own kind of way that they like and that they hope others will like. There hasn’t really ever been an artist that I like that follows their same foot steps, and maintains their same good sound without screwing anything up. Well, except for Iron Maiden.
Anyways, I give this album a 7.9/10. You can listen to it here.
