Samsung and Apple have been going back to back over an injunction on american grounds, in banning the sale of the newest Galaxy Nexus smartphone (Google’s flagship Android phone). Before, the Galaxy Nexus was taken away from the Google Play Store just after Apple had won this injunction over the device. Though Samsung was able to earn a stay of this new ban, which allowed them to continue to sell the newest device just until July 12th just when Apple had issued their response. Meanwhile, Google is planning to release an Android 4.1 upgrade to the Galaxy Nexus which will be solving the search bar issue apparently.
And now if you look through the Play Store right now, you’ll notice the Galaxy Nexus can and indeed again be bought. Though the catch is, currently it cannot be bought and be shipped right away for another 2-3 weeks because of Apple. For the least part, you will be guaranteed an unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus shipped to your doorstep in about a couple weeks. And it is expected of Google to finish their software upgrade which will be clearing the problem to allow them to make shipping instantly instead of these stupid wait times.
If only Google was a little more unique with their Android OS so they’d have all these lawsuits against them from Apple, as Apple really did design the basic layout of the touchscreen smartphones you see in all of the other non-Apple smartphones, in their iPhones. Google just used the design a little too much. Not to say that I think Apple, or their iOS devices are better than Android. I love both worlds, or devices and OS’s.
