This move is coming from Apple as they are no doubt seeking to build their iCloud services that were officially released last month.
In recent weeks, Apple has been looking to recruit senior-level executives with backgrounds in Web-based software, according to people familiar with the matter. It has approached at least one prominent Internet entrepreneur since at least earlier this year about a possible position, according to these people, who say the details of the possible job were unclear. The company has also discussed its needs with recruiters, one of the people said.
The report says accordingly, that Apple has been thinking of creating a new cloud-based team focused on in the engineering level, and they are now looking into filling out their department with more senior ranks. Directly near the end, it has been indicated by sources like The Wall Street Journal that it has been looked upon broadly by Apple for a very talented Web-focused managers who could be a good fit for the company’s director level or even further rather than just recruiting just for the specific positions.
The effort of the iCloud is being currently overseen by Eddy Cue who was already promoted to a position of the senior vice president level which was back last September as his own role had beein growing in visibility and also responsibility, as he had been taking on the iCloud, the iBookstore, and also the iAd additionally to his own long-standing position in being the leader in the iTunes Store and App Store efforts.
