Apple Bitch noticed recently and reported that a Chinese parts vendor named TVC-Mall has just started selling “iPhone 5″ home buttons that are currently for sale with both white and black colors. Though this report doesn’t say anything about the fact that but buttons are actually slightly less round, obviously, as the home buttons right now are all round on all iOS devices.
The newest buttons are appearing to have squares that are much more rounded which are in the shape as most iOS application icons, though remain to keep the roundish form as normally seen in devices that are existing. It has been noted by TVC-Mall about the product description:
Different from iPhone 4S 4, the iPhone 5 home button is round in the centre and square outside as the pictures show. The two parts are indivisible.
Though it’s not clear right now as seen in the product images if this design transformation will actually be noticeable to any users. It’s specifically not clear if the newest rounded square form of the button would be the same finish as the device itself with the round portion being depressed a little bit or if the square-rounded part simply may be just below the surface of the smartphone and also invisible to the user as going with the smaller edges and also the “wings” of the current iPhone home button design.
We of course are predicting that the rounded square part of this new smartphone will be obviously below the surface finish of the iPhone, which would be purposely serving to hold the button itself in place while still being invisible to the users themselves. In this kind of scenario, just the regular round home button would be protruding through the very surface of the device itself to be easily accessed by the user.
Either way it is appearing that the hints of Apple taking the home button to a whole new design level or replacing it with a touch-sensitive button with a much bigger sensitive area is again unknown. All these rumors are starting to be naturally common in the months previous to the actual release date of the device itself, if it is an iOS device. But Apple of course has maintained their iconic and contestant presences of the home button being shown on the very first iPhone through all of the newer iPhone releases.
The company TVC-Mall (I still ask myself why they named themselves after a “Mall”), has a long-standing history of revealing small but relevant iOS device parts well ahead of the actual product release dates. Though if these parts are indeed genuine, they be be saying that Apple is preparing to release the device by putting it into mass production. Though these kinds of leaks are sometimes numerous months ahead of the production of the actual devices.
An update shows that the buttons are listed for sale for both white and black corlors through TrueSupplier and the images that were posted are clearly showing that the rounded squares will be lieing just behind the front of the device which serves as holding the home button into place.
