Apparently, there has been rumors of Apple releasing their own actual Television set, and according to Cnet Lenovo is attempting to make an entry into the market themselves just before Apple, with a taste of Google’s own Android OS “Ice Cream Sandwich”, with voice recognition to compete with only a rumor of Apple using Siri in their still rumored-upcoming Siri-powered Television set.
As Lenovo is very well known for their ThinkPad models of notebooks, this laptop company is entering this new market and revealing the very first TV to run an Android OS, which is named as the K91Smart TV, and the new TV will be available initially only in China so far, with other countries to receive the new TV later on.
The K91 3D LED, 55″ television set will be driven by a Qualcomm 8060 Snapdragon dual-core processor and will be featuring 1GB of RAM, 8GB’s of HDD space internally, and also a 2GB SD card aswell.
The voice recognition will be allowing any users to use their voices to control the TV set easily, as we shall hope. A 5MP Webcam allows you to interact with video, and that feature will also allow you to interact with facial recognition for security and parental control purposes.
Any owners will be capable of having cloud support which will allow users to stream their media to their TV, or tablet, smartphone, or their Personal Computer. The users will also be able to use their tablet or even their smartphone as the remote for the TV incase they are too shy to use their voice, or if they are watching porn!.
It will be interesting to see if this first entry of a voice-recognition’d television set will perform as good as it looks like it will. Apple now has some competition, and it’s officially a new trend for the television set industry. Sony, Samsung, Vizio, and all the others will probably have their own voice reconition’d television sets to show off for this CES, for 2012.
